Attention: 3rd and 4th year highschool students
I'd like to share my brief story when I was about to graduate in highschool. Should I start with the words "Once upon a time"? Nahhhhh!
Anyway, when I was about to finish highschool I wanted to take up Conservatory of Music as my College Degree. But my parents [specifically my father, I bet he doesn't remember it] said to me that there is NO MONEY in that career. During that time, the "trend" of employment was in Computer Engineering. Guess what? This is what I took in college as per my parents advice because the salary of this career is big.
Now your question might be, "Why are you telling this?
I'm telling you this because it's VERY IMPORTANT that YOU [the graduating highschool student] choose your own College Degree according to what you REALLY want. But picking a College Degree is not an easy thing. It entails a lot of thinking and as much as possible seek help from your Guidance Counselor. It's important that you choose it for yourself because you are the one who will eventually use it after college not your circle of influence [even your parents]. It's good to listen to their "advices" but at the end of the day, you should be the one to pick your own course.
My tip for picking your College Degree are the following:

My tip for picking your College Degree are the following:
- Top 3 favorite highschool subjects
- Top 3 favorite things that you do or things you "enjoy" doing
It is important to choose a College Degree in "relation" to what interests you because more or less after college your job would be [or should I say MUST be] in relation to what you "enjoy" doing.
Cheers!!!
