Which is more important?!?
Is attitude more important in becoming "successful" or skills are more important? Success means different things to different people. To some it's personal/physical success, others financial. So it basically depends on the person how he/she can rate his/her success. For this particular blog, let us use FINANCIAL SUCCESS or Success in Lifestyle.
So going back to the question, "Which is more important in becoming successful - attitude or skills?"
Majority of the Filipinos can attest that we are full of talented people! I bet my limbs that almost all of us will agree that Filipinos are very skillful people. Right?!? Almost all countries in the world are dying to have a Filipino employee on their business - be it for personal or corporate use.
But why is it that despite the fact that we are very skillful, we still don't feel that the Philippines [or ourselves - in a small scale] is becoming successful? Have you ever wondered about this? We have all the great doctors, scientists, singers, etc. but still it seems that we are not moving forward! Why is this?!?
I once learn in a network marketing company that in order to become successful, it is important to have 90% good attitude and only 10% skills. Skills are EASILY learned but attitudes [good] need a lot of time in order for us to develop one. And it is a bit tricky because we need to develop POSITIVE ATTITUDES. For us to be able to develop one, we need to "habitually" do or practice.
Here are "some" of the bad attitudes that "majority" of the Filipinos have:
- Happy-go-lucky habit
- Irresponsibility
- Little concern to other people
- Conceitedness
- Defeating attitude
- ...and a lot more!!!
I can already hear you saying that these are not you! I tell you, that's another "bad" attitude that Filipinos make... We do not know when or how to accept our mistakes. Instead of defending ourselves that we are not these, I think it is more wise to study our own selves and change the things that needs to be changed. Some examples of these things are we spend our money on petty stuffs [we could have invested in to earn more money - given you know what you're doing], littering [cigarette butts, plastics, etc. are everywhere], being so boastful for your blessings in life, not being able to share your blessings to the people who needs it more than you do, and a lot more!
If we do not change our bad attitudes to positive/good ones, we'll hardly be successful in ANYTHING in life as an individual and as a society.
The ONLY WAY to help our country is to HELP YOURSELF become a BETTER YOU in ALL ASPECTS [physical, mental, social, spiritual, financial].
